Extension & Loft Conversion in Silverton

A reconfiguration of the existing ground floor with a single-storey extension and a loft conversion. The family wanted to replace their ill-considered flat roof extensions and conservatory with an open plan kitchen and dining room that reconnected the house with the existing rear garden. They also wanted a prominent entrance with a boot room from their existing driveway.

House before construction started

The home is a detached 1920s property in Silverton. It has been extended over the years that have become inadequate for modern family living. The house with its front porch and entrance faces the main road, however the existing driveway sweeps to the rear of the house resulting the family using the conspicuous back door to the utility room as their main entrance. The rear garden is therefore disconnected from the main house due to the auxiliary spaces.
